Mountain bikers in Scotland are are equally as well catered for as walkers. There is a plentiful choice, with hundreds of routes. Scotland is great for challenging mountain biking or just some road cycling to take in the scenery.

Cyclists can often go for miles without seeing a car and the Scotland views are amongst some of the best in the world.

Fort William is the home of mountain biking in Scotland. It recently played host to the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup Finals.

The UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships will take place 3rd - 9th September 2007.

The local area boasts the spectacular Nevis mountain downhill course which drops 525 metres in 2.6km.

That would certainly get the adrenaline running!

The course offers spectacular views over Ben Nevis, Loch Linnie and Loch Eli and the islands of the Inner Hebrides.

The course can be accessed by the gondola (mountain cableway), whether you are a spectator or a participant.
