climbing and walking

Scotland is one of the premier venues for walkers and climbers and offers more than could possibly be detailed here!

We will try and give you a small sample of what's available, though.

Scotland has the highest mountain in Britain: Ben Nevis, situated at Fort William. If you prefer something a little smaller then Scotland also has 284 Munroes (mountains over 3000 feet high)

which all offer climbers spectacular views and breathtaking scenery.

For those requiring a challenge a little closer to sea level there are many routes available.

One of the most famous is the West Highland way which runs from Milnagavie (near Glasgow) to Fort William.

The route also passes, by us, through Tyndrum!

Other well known walking routes include The Great Glen way, which runs 70 miles across Scotland from Inverness to Fort William, the Southern Upland way, St. Cuthbert's way and the Sir Walter Scott way.
