Our haddock, cod and plaice is frozen at sea. Within a maximum of 6 hours of being caught, the fish is cleaned, filleted and frozen. We buy this from Smales who are the biggest independent fish merchant in the UK and have been in the game since 1937.

We believe this method of buying our fish offers you the best, freshest and most consistent quality of fish available.

Our puddings, pies, sausages and chickens come from the Aberfoyle Butcher.

According to Nick Nairn, the Aberfoyle Butcher is one of the best butchers in the UK. There isn't anything Jonathon Honeyman doesn't know about meat, and we agree!!

Jonathon has made specific and unique recipes for the Real Food Cafe. All of the meat is Scottish Farm Assured so you know you are getting quality.

Our burgers come from half a mile down the road at Strathfillan Wigwams Farm Shop. Rena and Stewart make our lamb and beef burgers from the stock reared on the farm and their produce is Scottish Farm Assured too.

You can go and stay on the farm in amongst the animals by renting one of their Wigwams, if you like!

The theme continues with our ice cream which comes from Equi's in Lanarkshire. Equi's, which was established in 1922, uses no milk powder at all in the production of it's products. It uses only Scottish fresh milk and Double Cream.

We agree with the judges at the UK National Ice Cream Championships where Equi's won Best Vanilla Ice Cream in November 2004. Come and taste it for yourself.
